Street Fighter IV, five other games announced by Capcom
You know, there are times where my job is so easy. I could just easily write “Street Fighter IV” and be done with it, but that wouldn’t be very professional of me, now would it? Regardless, now that you KNOW there is a Street Fighter IV in development, you all can run along on your merry way. But, if you care, Capcom has also made some other huge announcements this week as they held their Gamers Day in London.
Street Fighter IV is official. This is obviously the biggest news from Capcom, but there were a slew of other announcements made by the Developer/Publisher that will surely make fans of every console happy.
Except PS3, but I’ll get to that.
First up, again, is Street Fighter IV the long-awaited next entry in a series that in itself has 27 titles. So let’s recap: Street Fighter IV is the 28th game in the franchise. …you chronoligists have fun with that. As the game has only recently gone into development, no details have yet been announced.
However, the other Street Fighter game, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD will be making its home on the Xbox 360 in 2008. Stat tracking, spectator mode, widescreen, plus new and remixed versions of the classic Street Fighter games are to be included.
But enough about Street Fighter 28: Super Turbo Legendary Hyper Edition. There were other games announced! A new IP called Dark Void, specifically, caught my eye. From what I can tell (and that is very little>, the game revolves around the protagonist (big, literary word for “you”) wearing a jetpack and going postal on airships, gyrocopters and Lord only knows what else. Also, it’s steampunk. Because BioShock made steampunk “in”.
In other, less exciting news, Capcom announced a new golf game, Wii Love Golf. Guess what console that’s on. Nothing too exciting with this. After all, if you’ve played Wii Golf, you’ve played this.
Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice for the Wii has also been announced. Note the lack of the “Phoenix Wright” name? Very conspicuous, especially considering he’s in the game. Hopefully they don’t Harvey Birdman him.
Now, for that PS3 news. Remember how a week or so ago Christian Svensson said in response to allegations that Capcom is alienating their PS3 fanbase, “Let’s see how they feel at the end of next week about us.“? Well, if how I feel is any indication, you may have left them indifferent. How so, you ask?
Lost Planet is coming to the PlayStation 3. It will include all the bonus material from the PC version, as well as all the DLC from the Xbox 360 version. There is but one question to ask.
Who cares?
