Rock Band DLC Update: Week of 04-14-08
Hold on to your hats fellow rock fans, this week’s round of rock songs is… oh who the hell am I kidding? It’s mildly interesting at best. The three songs are:
* “Call Me” by Blondie
* “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
* “Message in a Bottle” by the Police
Update: Looks like Mötley Crüe released a new single through Rock Band today called “Saints of Los Angeles”.
All three songs are Master recordings and will cost 1.99 a pop or 160 pretend money on Xbox Live. If you have a burning need for all three songs you can get them in the Classic Rock pack for the slightly discounted price of 5.49 or 440 rip you off points. The Motley Crue song will cost $0.99 or 80 Microsoft Magic Points for a limited time.
Videos and my thoughts after the break! (Except for the Motley Crue song)
“Call Me” by Blondie
I don’t think a lot of guys out there will be going nuts for this song, but it’s a decent pick if you have that special lady in your life who wants more female fronted songs. All I have to say is thank the stars above that it’s not Rapture with that idiotic rap at the end.
“Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Uh yep, it’s Simple Man. Hey, at least it’s not the butchered version by Shinedown. Okay, maybe I’m being a bit harsh to Shinedown. I’m still mad at them for the abomination that was 45. It still makes me vomit uncontrollably whenever I hear it.

“Message in a Bottle” by the Police
I love the Police and all, but seriously when did Message in a Bottle become classic rock? Would you ever here this song on a classic rock station? (If you don’t know any classic rock stations I’m sure your Dad can point you in the right direction). Still, I like the Police so I might have to get this one.
