Pay $5 to Pre-Order Turok - Get Demo and T-Shirt..
.. the real cost though? You have to do it at GameStop. Yes, GameStop has reserved the right to screw over any people who were thinking about buying Turok but wanted to do like most people, try before you buy. This will be going on November, in December IGN has stated that you will be able to grab the demo from Best Buy who will come in for sloppy seconds on screwing you. A person who has worked on the game has given some kind of light at the end of this dim dim tunnel by saying, “As far as places without GameStop go…we’ll have something for you too.” Still, the whole situation begs the question of what good is a demo for somebody who is already going to be buying the game?
In other news for Turok, an interesting note, on top of all the multiplayer maps and single player campaign, there will be a 4 player co-op mode, but that won’t take you through the regular missions, rather, they created maps specifically for the co-op, saying that it will be its own campaign “telling aspects of that story from a differing POV.”
Lastly, good news and bad news for PS3 owners. The bad, no demo for you. The good, the nice developers working on the game have made sure to bring in some Sony engineers to ensure that the PS3 owner is not just some crappy port of what the 360 version is, much like what was done for Assaisins Creed.
