GameStop cashes in with record $1.6 Billion third quarter

GameStop employees better get a nice bonus this holiday. Why do I say that? Because Gamasutra (the end-all, be-all of industry news) reports that GameStop made $1.6 Billion dollars in the third quarter of 2007, a profit increase of 283%.

Strong sales of games like Halo 3, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, BioShock, Wii Play and Madden NFL 08 helped the gaming retail giant to the record third quarter, and expects sales to continue to grow in the fourth quarter as the holidays approach.
