For those of you who currently own an Xbox 360, you know how addictive it is to try to get achievements in a game. Microsoft has done a great job with the achievements idea, even though it means nothing at the moment.
Unscripted360 is reporting that the achievements might actually mean something in the future.
Xbox is teaming up with sponsors to launch a new program next month that will do just this! For the first time with the Xbox 360, gamers will be rewarded for their Achievements and participation in this program. It will be a FREE program for all interested in registering. There are no fees. Your participation, in fact, is simply doing what you’ve been doing all along…playing games, having fun and unlocking those Achievements. From the casual player to the hardcore, this program will satisfy everyone’s gaming style.
I admit, I used to be an achievements whore when I first got my Xbox 360. I had a couple of friends who were ahead of me in points, and I don’t know why but I wanted to beat them so bad. But if this program actually comes to be, then it looks like I need to go back to my whoring ways. If Microsoft did this though, it would be a huge benefit because there have been many times I’m sure people have given up on a game’s achievements because it was just too difficult. Now, it will get players to play on their Xbox 360’s more, and also makes games with easy achievements more likely to be picked up by gamers.
What do you all think about this possible upgrade to the achievements?
