The third submission for 1P Start’s Gamer Girl contest is ‘c0mputeher’. Here’s a brief rundown of ‘c0mputeher’,

1P Start sat down with Amanda on AIM for a little chat and to see what makes her tick. The full interview follows after the break.

1P: First question, what is your age and how long have you been gaming?

c0mputeher: Age is 18, and I’ve been gaming since I was 7.

1P: what was your first system? that’s a good amount of time. Are you affiliated with any clans now?

c0mputeher: First system was a NES [top loader], and I’m with no clans currently.

1P: nice. favorite NES game?

c0mputeher: Super Mario

1P: the first one?

c0mputeher: Yes of course. Who doesn’t love the first super mario? lol

1P: I can’t think of anyone off the top of my head. why do you think you got into gaming in the first place and have you felt weird being a female gamer in a male dominated industry?

c0mputeher: Why? Probably because I was always at my grandmothers house which ment I was bored and she always had this NES system mainly for when my cousins came down to visit so one day I decided to play with it and I became hooked. So I guess boredom got ahold of me. I don’t feel weird about being a female gamer to be honest actually. I’ve always had a “tom-boyish” side to myself so I’ve been completely comfortable with it.

1P: what’s your current favorite title?

c0mputeher: Halo.

1P: i can’t argue there. I avoid studying for Halo

c0mputeher: Haha shame on you

1P: Do you play casually, or do you have interests in competitions, etc?

c0mputeher: I play casually or with friends. I’m not really big on finding any competitons yet right now. I will eventually possibly.

1P: fun is what really matters with Halo anyway

c0mputeher: Yes

1P: do you have a specific favorite memory from Halo? I have plenty of glory stories from crazy things i pulled on Halo, but this is about you so I’ll save those stories for another time

c0mputeher: Honestly, not really. But I do recall times I spent playing Halo via PC with a friend and trying out crazy custom made maps. It was really neat. But otherwise, nothing special haha.

1P: i never played the PC version

c0mputeher: The PC version is fun

1P: do you have many other female gamer friends or mostly guys?

c0mputeher: No female gamer friends currently. All guys.

1P: I see. how many hours per day would you estimate you play games?

c0mputeher: Depends on the day to be honest. It can vary between 1 hour to 10 hours. On average would be 6 hours.

1P: i’d say 6 is enough to be considered a serious gamer

c0mputeher: 10 is just crazy though

1P: i hate to admit it, but i once played Halo 2 for 26 hours straight just taking quick breaks for water and food lol

c0mputeher: Wow lmao

1P: Quick: what systems do you play on now and what gamertags do you have?

c0mputeher: No gamertags atm, to be honest. . I will have one soon though. I play on the Xbox, NES [emulation]. SNES, N64, Playstation 2, Gameboy [1989 version], and game boy advance

1P: that’s a good assortment. N64 is still one of my favorite systems

c0mputeher: Yeah same here. I love the Goldeneye007 game. Super Mario 64 was great also. The remake of Paperboy was horrible. NES version was the best. Period.
